A Friend’s Help (Optional):
Especially useful for hip and back measurements.
(optional)
1. A few general guidelines
1. Lay It Flat on a Hard Surface
Pick a kurti that fits you well and is similar in style to the one you're planning to purchase (straight, A-line, flared, etc.).
2. Smooth Out Wrinkles
Gently smooth the kurti so there are no folds or creases. This helps avoid inaccurate measurements.
3. Don’t Stretch the Fabric
Measure as-is, without pulling or stretching. We want the natural fit, not a tight one.
4. Using the measuring tape
Do not pull the tape measure as tight as it will go. Keep it straight and avoid stretching the fabric.
2. Flat Measurement Guide
1. Measuring the Chest
We measure the bust just below the armhole. The measurement you see in the chart refers to the width of the chest when lying flat. So the entire front + back will be double what you see. For example, if the measurement in the chart if 42cm, the entire front + back when lying flat is 84cm. When comparing the measurement to your body, measure at the apex (largest point) of your breasts and around your back at the same level.
2. Measuring the Waist
The waist measurement is the smallest part of the waist. The same goes, we are measuring the garment flat, so if you wish to know the complete front and back measurement simply double the amount. Compare at the narrowest part of your waist.
3. Measuring the Hip
The hip is the widest part of your lower body. Aim for the apex level of your butt. We measure the widest part of the lower half of the dress. Typically the bust and hip are at equal distance to the waist, so your waist will most likely be in the middle of both. As usual, we measure the garment laying flat so we are only measuring the front width. For the entire measurement, double the length listed.

3. Measure Yourself
1. Measuring your Chest
Place the tape measure around the fullest part of your bust. Write this measurement down.
2. Measuring your Waist
For your waist, wrap the tape around the smallest part of your torso, usually well above the belly button. This is your natural waist, not where most pant waistbands sit.
If you’re pear- or hourglass-shaped, it’s easy to find. If you’re apple- or straight-shaped, measure midway between your lowest rib and the top of your hip bones. Note: for some, the waist may be larger than the hips.
In this case, measure between your lowest rib and the top of your hip bones.
3. Measuring your Hip
Taking a hip measurement can be tricky since the “hip” varies from person to person. It’s important to note that the hip measurement is not taken at your hip bones, which sit higher on the body, closer to the low waist (where low-rise jeans rest).
Instead, place the tape around the widest part of your buttocks, below the hip bones, and record this number. This ensures an accurate measurement for fit.
3. Compare with Our Size Chart
1. For Kurtas
Now that you have your numbers, match them against our chart to see your best size. If you fall between, choose the larger one for comfort.

How do I choose the right size?
👉 What if I fall between two sizes?
That’s perfectly okay. We recommend choosing the larger size, especially since our pieces are pre-shrunk and have extra seam margin for minor tailoring. This gives you ease and flexibility.
Does Naksh provide size charts per product like other companies?
Yes—each garment detail page includes a “Size Chart” button. It shows the garment’s actual measurements so you can match your own for a confident fit.
What if I'm not sure which part to measure (hips, waist)?
It’s common to get confused. Unlike the hip bones, your hip measurement is around the fullest part of your bottom. And your “waist” is your natural waist—well above the hip bones. Follow our easy steps above or reach out if you'd like help.
How accurate are these measurements?
We strive for precision—our size charts are based on how the garment actually fits. Still, everyone’s shape is unique. That’s why we offer easy alteration options and personalized help if you need it.
